Moon Township is home to the Air Force Reserve 911th Airlift Wing, the 171st Air Refueling Wing of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, and the Army's 99th Regional Command of Readiness.Īn airport terminal relocation resulted in a loss in traffic to the township but the city has moved its attention from trade to the airport to corporate development, residence and university center. A section of Moon Township across the Ohio River also runs adjacent with (from south to north), Glen Osborne, Sewickley, and Edgeworth. North Fayette Township is to the south and Findlay Township shares the border from the southwest to the west. Hopewell Township, located in Beaver County, lies to the northwest while the borough of Coraopolis is the north-northeast. Robinson Township covers the northeast, east, and southeast boundary. The Sewickley Bridge is a direct link between Moon Township and Sewickley. Crescent Township is up to the north-northwest of Moon Township. Within Allegheny County, Moon Township has six borders. Moon Township is located in eastern Pennsylvania at 40☃1′N 80☁4′W.
